Happy New Year!

I wanted to share the 2025 most searched lyrics from AfricanGospelLyrics.com (which turned 15 years in October 2025!). For the first time in a long time, the most searched lyrics involved songs released in the same year. Going through the list reminded me of Luke 11. The lyrics searched related to either approaching God as a friend (Luke 11: 5-8) with “claiming” as a theme–see Oyor’s “Favor song” and Orenze’s “Too Oiled”; or approaching God as a Father (Luke 11:11-13) the theme “surrender” like the “River of Cleansing” Hymn by Sarakiya and “Yebo” by Vestine and Dorcas.

I hope that the most searched lyrics in 2026 will be of Thanksgiving for directed paths and answered prayers. 🙂
